Sports For Kids is a physically active out of school care program that provides children with opportunities to experience a variety of different sport and recreational activities. Sports For Kids offers Edmonton out of school care programs for children between the ages of 5 to 12 years old. Our program offers children with opportunities to experience a variety of different sports and recreational activities in a fun and non-competitive environment. We value respect, the use of proper manners, sportsmanship, participation and enjoyment and encourage these principals at all times.
Sports For Kids is pleased to be offering its sixteenth year of childcare service in the Westmount area. We are located right in the Westmount Fitness Center at 12840 109th Ave.
Our program runs out of a multi-purpose room that is filled with games, blocks, Lego, books and more. We also have full access to a lovely 1200 sq foot gymnasium everyday. This allows us to schedule great programs that accommodate every child’s needs.
Our out-of-school care is broken down into three different components:
Early dismissal on Thursdays is also accommodated.
Along with the regular program, Sports For Kids offers specialty sports programs. These are normally offered once a week for one hour. With different sports each day to keep your child active and engaged.
Enrollment is open to any child who meets the age restrictions of the program. Applications are accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis (payment must be included). All participants must have completed a registration form before they begin in any program. At least one month of notice must be provided in writing prior to termination of participation, otherwise regular fees are incurred. A deposit equivalent to the monthly fee is required for all registrations.
Kinder Program | 7:00 – 9:00 am | 11:00 – 6:00 pm | Monday – Friday*
Out of School Care Program | 7:00 – 9:00 am | 3:20 – 6:00 pm | Monday – Friday*
* Closed on all statutory holidays and Easter Monday.
We do not provide lunch. Your child must bring their own food, however we do have microwaves and a refrigerator available for use, as well as dishes and cutlery if needed. A snack made up of two food groups will be provided around 2:00pm everyday for children in attendance.
All participants are required to have a pair of clean, indoor running shoes to wear inside the facility only.
If your child is going to be absent, please inform us as soon as possible. Parents who constantly fail to call us will be billed $5.00 as an inconvenience fee.
If your child requires medication at any time, the medication must be given to a staff upon arrival and you need to sign a permission to administer medication form. It will be given as prescribed provided the medication is in its original container with the prescription clearly marked.
In the event of an accident involving your child, you will be contacted as soon as possible. If we are unable to contact a parent, then the emergency contact person will be called. An after hours number is posted on the office window facing the front road (780) 668 – 5914.
All staff goes through a Sports For Kids training and orientation program. They all have valid and up to date First-Aid certificates. Most staff are university or college students who are succeeding in a child related field of study. Certain staff are required to have National Coaching Certification Program (N.C.C.P) designation for instructing our specialty sports.
Payment & Additional Fees
All fees are due at the first of each month or at the start of the program. If payment is not made by the 3rd day of the month a late payment fee of $50.00 per month will be applied to the initial fee. Payment may be made using Cash, Visa, MasterCard, and Debit.

If you ever have any questions, comments or concerns please bring them to our attention. Our Office Manager Kelsey and Program Director Krystal are always around to chat and take any feedback.
